Epilepsies Action Network is pleased to share the message below from The National Plan for Epilepsy Committee (NPEC) with guidance to share your feedback to consensus priorities developed by and for our diverse community. Whether you are a person living with, a clinician, a caregiver, a researcher or other - your inputs and VOICE matter.
Dear epilepsy community members,

For the past several months, the National Plan for Epilepsy Committee (NPEC) and several work groups have been developing a document with bold goals, key priorities, and concrete strategies to provide to policymakers and epilepsy community organizations. Called “Epilepsy Community Consensus Priorities,” these recommendations seek to prevent, diagnose, treat, and cure epilepsy across the life span; end stigma; improve schooling and educational opportunities and increase the employment of people living with epilepsy; and reduce burden for people living with epilepsy and their caregivers. They provide the community’s view of what should be included in a National Plan for Epilepsy.

We are now thrilled to share the draft document broadly for your review and feedback. Please visit the NPEC website to review the draft plan and provide feedback via the online form. Please submit your feedback by Friday, October 31, 2025.

We especially welcome your thoughts on whether these priorities and strategies reflect your lived experience as a person living with epilepsy, a caregiver, medical practitioner, researcher, advocate, etc. Have we identified and proposed strategies to address your challenges? If not, please let us know what is missing.

Thank you to the dozens of community members that have participated in the NPEC process so far and contributed their expertise to get us to this stage. We are eager for comments from across the epilepsy community as we refine this draft together. Thank you in advance for your time and consideration!

Sincerely,
The National Plan for Epilepsy Committee
